Mold In Front Load Washer

I just watched a segment on the news that was talking about smelly front load washers. One women found out what it was, mold growing behind the gasket on the door and where you add your detergent, softener, etc. That is why even after cleaning your washer on the clean washer cycle, your clothes will smell like mildew. Her family started having problems with allergies also. It said to clean around the gasket with a bleach solution after each wash and remove all water and leave doors open to dry out completely.

We have had that problem. No matter how often I ran the clean washer cycle our towels, etc would smell after washing. I just checked both the gasket and the drawer and found no dirt, mold at all. There is always a little water sitting in the bottom of the gasket though, which I try to dry out every time.
